Squats to Scroll
How does the blocking actually work?
You choose which apps to guard. When you open one, Squats to Scroll asks for a few bodyweight squats, counted on your device by the camera, and then lets you into that app for 15 minutes before it locks again. Camera frames never leave your phone. For what the app does send us, see the Privacy Policy.
The blocker isn't stopping my apps. What's wrong?
Squats to Scroll uses Apple's Screen Time system to guard your apps, so it needs two things in place. If either is missing, nothing gets blocked:
If both look right and an app still opens freely, restart your phone. iOS occasionally needs a restart before new Screen Time rules take effect.
Do I have to use my camera?
No. The camera is optional and runs entirely on your device, and frames are analyzed for the squat count and immediately discarded, never stored or uploaded. If you'd rather not use it, a tap-to-count option works instead.
How much does it cost?
Right now, nothing. The app is free while we're in beta, and the App Store listing is always the accurate source for the current price. What you won't find inside the app: ads, paid skips, or paid streak repairs. You can guard as many apps as you like.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you run into trouble, email us and we'll do our best to help.
How do I turn blocking off?
You can disable blocking inside the app at any time, or revoke its Screen Time access in Settings → Screen Time. Removing every app from Apple's picker also stops all blocking. You're always in control.
